SHARE Supports ASEAN Universities on Quality Assurance
A first preparatory training for the SHARE pilot assessments of higher education institutions was organised on 20-21 March 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The workshop, which SHARE organized on behalf of ASEAN, was attended by 11 selected ASEAN universities from the SHARE network and featured speakers from AUN-QA, AQAN, PAASCU, University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and BINUS University, Jakarta.
The workshop aimed to prepare the partner universities for the SHARE pilot assessments that are set to take place in early 2018. The assessments will test the institutions’ internal quality management systems and allow them to test their degree of alignment with the ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework (AQAF). Active participation from the audience also provided the SHARE team with a better understanding of the constraints and hurdles to internal quality assurance in different ASEAN member states, whilst discussing possible strategies to overcome such challenges.
